Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website, however they get here. If any part of it is hard for you to use, we want to know so we can fix it.
Our accessibility commitment
What we aim for
This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the widely used standard for making websites usable by people with a broad range of abilities, including those who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, or larger text.
How we check it
Every change to the site is automatically tested against WCAG 2.1 AA by an accessibility scanner (axe-core) before it goes live. A change that would introduce a violation stops the update from publishing. As of July 14, 2026, an automated scan of every page, at both desktop and phone sizes, found no violations. We also check the site by hand from time to time using a keyboard only and a screen reader.
What we have paid attention to
- Text and background colors are chosen to stay easy to read, and text can be enlarged in your browser without breaking the layout.
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone, and the item you are on is clearly outlined.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions for screen readers.
- Forms have clear labels, and the menus, headings, and page structure are marked up so assistive technology can navigate them.
- The site does not use motion or animation that could be distracting, and it respects your device setting if you have asked to reduce motion.
One known limitation
Our weekly worship bulletin is posted as a PDF, exported from the document the office prepares for print. PDFs are not always as accessible as a web page. If a bulletin is hard for you to read, please contact the church office and we will happily read it to you, send it in another format, or walk you through anything you need. The rest of the site, including service times, events, and the pastor's weekly letter, is regular web text.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site gets in your way, please let us know. Email office@yppc.org or call (843) 744-2268, and we will help you get to what you need and fix the underlying problem. Your feedback genuinely helps us make the site better for everyone.
