Pillar Two

Grow Disciples

Accepting the call to be Christ's disciples in all of life — for every age and stage of faith.

Following Jesus isn't a moment — it's a long, sometimes uneven, always shared walk. The classes, studies, and gatherings below are how we travel that road together at YPPC.

Sundays at 9:45 a.m.

Sunday School for every age

Classes start before worship and run through the school year. Whether you're four years old or eighty, there's a class for you.

Sunday School

Classes for every age — children, youth, and adults — meeting each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. before worship.

Classes are organized by age:

  • Children (K4 through 3rd grade)
  • Youth (4th through 8th grade, with teens in a separate class)
  • Adults

Classrooms are clearly marked. If you’re not sure where to go on your first Sunday, just ask anyone in the lobby.

Going deeper

Bible study & women's ministry

Spaces for adults who want to take the next step with scripture, prayer, and the company of other disciples.

Sermon Starter Bible Study

An adult study that previews the upcoming Sunday's scripture passage and prepares the heart for worship.

Sermon Starter meets Monday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Open to anyone interested in going deeper with the week’s text — no prior study background required.

Presbyterian Women's Circles

Fellowship, study, and service for women of YPPC. Two active circles meet so a schedule works for most members.

One circle meets in the morning and one in the evening. Circles study together through the year and host the Ladies’ Brunches and other women’s ministry events.

Beyond Sunday

Fellowship through the year

Some of the most important formation at YPPC happens around tables, on porches, and in the parking lot after the oyster roast. These are the gatherings that knit the church together.

Family Mission Fellowship

Multi-generational service projects that put whole families to work together.

Periodic projects organized through the year — past examples include food-pantry workdays, packing days for partner ministries, and seasonal mission projects in the neighborhood.

Family Funday Sundays

Occasional Sunday afternoons gathering YPPC families for low-key fellowship outside of worship.

Hosted a few times each year. Past Sundays have included picnics, games, and seasonal gatherings. Watch the weekly update for the next date.

Annual oyster roast

A Lowcountry oyster roast each fall — one of YPPC's biggest fellowship gatherings of the year.

Local oysters, plenty of sides, and good conversation. Open to the whole church family and friends. Watch the weekly update for the date and how to RSVP.

Ladies' Brunches

Seasonal brunches for women of YPPC and their guests, hosted by Presbyterian Women.

A relaxed morning of food, conversation, and short devotionals. Held a few times each year — a great low-pressure way for new women in the congregation to meet others.

Walking the church year

Seasons that shape us

We mark time the way the church always has — through Advent, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. Some of our most formative weeks are these.

Advent Series

Special programs and services through the four weeks of Advent leading up to Christmas.

Includes the Children’s Christmas Pageant, additional worship services, and special music — woven through the season so the rhythm of Advent shapes our life together.

Not sure where to start?
