Rev. Dr. Cameron Smith

Pastor

A Lowcountry native, Cameron earned her BA in Spanish from the College of Charleston and graduated from Erskine Theological Seminary in 2012. She became the first Associate Pastor at James Island Presbyterian Church and is currently pursuing a doctorate at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Installed at YPPC in October 2021, she finds her joy "connecting with individuals and groups from different backgrounds around God's Word." Married to Jason; together they have four sons and a small menagerie of pets.

Jamie Maglione

Director of Christian Education

Originally from Framingham, MA, Jamie holds a BA in elementary education from Elon University. She taught multiple grade levels in Berkeley County for 24 years before retiring in July 2025. A YPPC member since 2018; married with two children.

Megan Connerty

Interim Administrative Assistant · Sexton · Nursery Leader

Summerville native and Fort Dorchester High School graduate. Megan began as sexton at YPPC and added nursery leadership four years ago. Married, with two Shelties named Jackson and Leroy. Enjoys spending time in her garden and by the pool.

Laurel Jean Walden

Organist

Originally from Illinois, with more than 30 years in music ministry. Formally trained in organ, piano, and voice from age five. She moved to the Lowcountry in 2008 to serve the blind community and helped establish South Carolina's only Christian outreach center for the blind. Also a professionally trained composer and lyricist.
