What worship is actually like

Our services are casual and traditional — relaxed in atmosphere, recognizable in form. Here's roughly how a Sunday morning unfolds.

  1. Sunday School

    Classes for all ages meet before worship. A member will be happy to help you find your class when you arrive.

  2. Worship

    Ushers begin greeting folks at 10:40 AM, and the church bell rings at 11:00 AM to mark the beginning of worship. Grab a bulletin and find a seat where you feel comfortable. Our services follow a liturgical order of worship with both classic hymns and contemporary arrangements. We hear God's Word read and proclaimed, pray, and share our offerings. Midway through, there's a special time for children before they're invited to either stay with their families or go to the nursery.

  3. Snacks and fellowship

    Stick around! We gather for snacks and conversation in the fellowship hall after worship every week. This is a great chance to introduce yourself, meet a few people, and find out more about YPPC.

What about my kids?

Children are welcome in worship! Our worship clipboards are updated weekly with supplies to engage children in worship. We also have a special time for children midway through each service and a nursery for first grade and below.

Here's how it works

  • Nursery is led by YPPC staff and volunteers. It is available for children in first grade and below during worship and during Sunday School for infants and toddlers.
  • Worship Clipboards are available at the entrance with supplies to help kids participate in worship.
  • Children's Time happens midway through each service — a moment for kids to come forward and hear a message just for them.
  • After Children's Time, kids in first grade and under may stay with their parents or go to the nursery; older children stay with parents.
  • Sunday School classes for children, youth, and adults meet each week at 9:45 a.m.

What should I wear?
Whatever you'd wear out to brunch with friends. Some folks dress up, most don't — both are welcome.
Will I be asked to stand up or introduce myself?
No. We don't single out visitors during worship. You're welcome to stay as anonymous as you'd like for as long as you'd like.
What if I'm not sure I believe?
You're still welcome. People come to YPPC at every stage of faith — including curious, uncertain, and exploring. We respect honest questions.
Is there anywhere I can listen first?
Yes. Our past services are available on YouTube — you can sample what a service looks and sounds like before you come.
